Dr. Emily Askin, director of Center City Neuropsychology, LLC, provides neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents and adults who are working or in school.
The goal in conducting a neuropsychological evaluation is to help individuals better understand their learning pattern. The results can help determine whether someone has a learning disability, an attention disorder, or other developmental delays.
In addition, neuropsychological testing results help explain the cognitive difficulties associated with specific neurological injuries or disease such as Concussion, Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Aneurysm/AVM, seizure disorders and many others.
Most neuropsychological evaluations also include an assessment of mood, personality and behavioral issues that may co-occur with cognitive impairment, allowing Dr. Askin to address the needs of the whole individual.
"As a neuropsychologist, my job is, simply, to help people understand themselves better, and to help them use this information to achieve greater success in school, at work and in their personal relationships." - Dr. Askin
